  • 2 poblano peppers, chopped
  • 1 can (15 oz) Goya Spanish brand red kidney beans, soaked overnight and drained
  • 1 cup dark chili powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp habanero sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground buffalo meat over medium heat until it is fully cooked.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the pot and sauté for a few minutes until they are softened.
  3. Add the chopped poblano peppers and continue to sauté for another few minutes until they are also softened.
  4. Add the soaked and drained kidney beans, crushed tomatoes, chili powder, black pepper, cumin, cayenne pepper, and habanero sauce (if using) to the pot and stir well to combine.
  5. Bring the chili to a simmer and let it cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
